La Unión Internacional de Juventudes Socialistas (IUSY por sus siglas en inglés), saluda con beneplácito la instalación de la nueva mesa de diálogo entre el gobierno de Venezuela y sectores de la oposición venezolana, quienes han anunciado acuerdos que garantizarán la convivencia política, el reconocimiento de los sectores políticos y la nacionalización del proceso de diálogo.

Los anuncios que se dieron en esta instalación de la mesa nacional de diálogo, corresponden a la aspiración de la mayoría de los venezolanos, solo una negociación plural y entre los venezolanos permitirá encontrar las soluciones a la grave crisis que vive el país.

Reiteramos nuestro compromiso, con La Paz, el reencuentro de los venezolanos y la democracia.

IUSY celebrates the installation of a national dialogue table in Venezuela

The International Union of Socialist Youth (IUSY) is pleased to welcome the installation of the new dialogue table between the Venezuelan government and sectors of the Venezuelan opposition, who have announced agreements that will guarantee political coexistence, the recognition of political sectors and the nationalization of the dialogue process.

The announcements made in this installation of the national dialogue table correspond to the aspiration of the majority of Venezuelans, only a plural negotiation and among Venezuelans will find solutions to the serious crisis that the country is experiencing.

We reiterate our commitment to the Peace, the reunion of Venezuelans and democracy.

L’IUSY salue l’installation d’une table de dialogue national au Venezuela

L’Union Internationale de la Jeunesse Socialiste (IUSY) salue la mise en place de la nouvelle table de dialogue entre le gouvernement vénézuélien et les secteurs de l’opposition vénézuélienne, qui ont annoncé des accords garantissant la coexistence politique, la reconnaissance des secteurs politiques et la nationalisation du processus du dialogue.

Les annonces faites dans cette installation de la table de dialogue national correspondent à l’aspiration de la majorité des Vénézuéliens, seule une négociation plurielle et entre Vénézuéliens permettra de trouver des solutions à la grave crise que connaît le pays.

Nous réaffirmons notre engagement en faveur de la paix, de la réunification des Vénézuéliens et de la démocratie.

La Unión Internacional de Juventudes Socialistas, (IUSY por sus siglas en inglés),exige a los organismos competentes se haga justicia con el caso del joven Rufo Antonio Chacón Parada, de 16 años de edad, quien perdió la vista luego de que funcionarios policiales le dispararon 52 perdigones en la cara cuando se encontraba en medio de una protesta por gas doméstico en Táriba, estado Táchira.

Rechazamos, que estas acciones contra el derecho a la protesta en Venezuela sigan ocasionando daños a jóvenes y familias, donde las necesidades que hoy enfrentan los venezolanos no pueden pretender taparlas con represiones al margen de

IUSY demands justice in the case of young Venezuelan Rufo Chacón Parada

The International Union of Socialist Youth (IUSY) is demanding justice for Rufo Antonio Chacón Parada, 16 years old, who lost his sight after police officers shot 52 buckshot in his face while he was in the middle of a domestic gas protest in Táriba, Táchira state.

We reject the fact that these actions against the right to protest in Venezuela continue to cause harm to young people and families, where the needs faced by Venezuelans today cannot be covered up with repression outside the law.

L’Union internationale de la jeunesse socialiste (IUSY) demande justice pour Rufo Antonio Chacón Parada, 16 ans, qui a perdu la vue après que des policiers lui aient tiré 52 balles dans le visage alors qu’il se trouvait au beau milieu d’une manifestation domestique de gaz à Táriba, dans l’Etat de Táchira.

Nous rejetons le fait que ces actions contre le droit de manifester au Venezuela continuent de causer du tort aux jeunes et aux familles, où les besoins auxquels les Vénézuéliens sont confrontés aujourd’hui ne peuvent être couverts par une répression illégale.

Declaración del Presidium de IUSY sobre la situación de Democracia y Derechos humanos en América Latina

IUSY expresa la su profunda preocupación por una serie de situaciones que han ocurrido en América Latina en los últimos días, los cuales han afectado la esencia de la democracia, el derecho humano a migrar y el normal desarrollo de los procesos eleccionarios, todos principios y elementos que consideramos relevantes para la construcción de sociedades con mayor justicia social a nivel global.

BRASIL

El primer evento que ocurrió en América Latina y que observamos con indignación el quebrantamiento democrático que sufre Brasil.

Después de días de incertidumbre, se le ha negado por parte del Supremo Tribunal Federal (STF) al ex Presidente Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva el derecho de defenderse en libertad hasta la última instancia.

Hemos sido testigos de las presiones y amenazas por parte de diversos actores, en especial la del comandante en jefe del Ejército Eduardo Villas-Boas, interfiriendo en el debate político, al poner a disposición a la fuerza militar para el “repudio de la impunidad y respeto de la Constitución”, recordándonos los peores momentos de los golpes y dictaduras militares in América Latina.

No olvidando la ilegitima acusación que se promovió en contra de Dilma Rouseff, la intervención militar de Río de Janeiro ordenada por Michel Temer, el asesinato de la concejala Marielle Franco y la situación crecientemente peor para el pueblo brasileño en términos de derechos sociales, libertades civiles y respeto a los derechos humanos.

El espíritu de la democracia debe prevalecer. Exigimos que las instituciones brasileñas actúen a favor del debido proceso y de la separación de poderes.

A LAS FRONTIERAS DE ESTADOS UNIDOS

En segundo lugar, el Presidente de Estados Unidos Donald Trump, ha ordenado el envío de la Guardia Nacional para vigilar la frontera con México, en una nueva ofensiva acompañada del discurso contra la inmigración de los pueblos al sur del rio Bravo.

Esto, junto a las presiones al Congreso para avanzar en la construcción del muro, es un insulto no sólo a México sino a América Latina.

La poca civilidad y respeto con que se dirige Donald Trump a las personas que buscan alcanzar el bienestar que en sus países de origen no pueden lograr, se vuelve inaceptable y políticamente intolerable.

Debemos defender el derecho a migrar como una conquista histórica ante las amenazas basadas en la xenofobia y el racismo de Trump. Por ello, condenamos enfáticamente las acciones del gobierno de Estados Unidos.

VENEZUELA

Finalmente, la caminata del candidato presidencial Henri Falcón fue atacada en la zona de Catia, Caracas, donde resultó gravemente herido un miembro de su equipo de campaña -el diputado de la Asamblea Nacional Teodoro Campos- y se registraron múltiples hurtos y agresiones, en un nuevo hecho de violencia que empaña la campaña electoral.

Los reportes señalan que estos hechos fueron realizados por grupos oficialistas que portaban armas de fuego, arremetiendo incluso en contra de la Policía Nacional Bolivariana.

Exigimos al gobierno de Venezuela liderado por Nicolás Maduro a aclarar estos hechos y al organismo electoral a dar garantías a todas las fuerzas políticas para una participación en igualdad de condiciones de cara a las próximas elecciones.

IUSY Presidium declaration on democracy and human rights situation in Latin America

IUSY expresses its deep concern for a series of situations that have occurred in Latin America in these recent days, which have affected the essence of democracy, the human right to migrate and the normal development of election processes, all principles and elements that we consider relevant for the construction of societies with greater social justice at the global level.

BRAZIL

The first event occurred in Latin America we observe with indignation is the democratic breakdown that Brazil suffers.

After days of uncertainty, former President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva has been denied by the Supreme Court (STF) the right to defend himself in freedom until the last instance.

We have witnessed pressures and threats from various actors, especially by the commander-in-chief of the Army, Eduardo Villas-Boas, interfering in the political debate, by making the military force available for the “repudiation of impunity and respect for the Constitution “, reminding us of the worst moments of the Latin American military coups and dictatorships.

Not forgetting the illegitimate accusation that was promoted against Dilma Rousseff, the military intervention of Rio de Janeiro ordered by Michel Temer, the assassination of Councilwoman Marielle Franco and the situation increasingly worse for the Brazilian people in terms of social rights, civil liberties and respect for human rights.

The spirit of democracy must prevail. We demand that Brazilian institutions act in favour of due process and the separation of powers.

AT THE BORDERS OF UNITED STATES

Second, the President of the United States of America Donald Trump has ordered the sending of the National Guard to watch the border with Mexico, in a new offensive accompanied by the speech against the immigration of the towns south of the Rio Bravo.

This, together with pressures on Congress to move forward with the construction of the wall, is an insult not only to Mexico but to Latin America.

The lack of civility and respect with which Donald Trump addresses the people who seek to achieve the well-being that in their countries of origin they cannot achieve, becomes unacceptable and politically intolerable.

We must defend the right to migrate as a historic achievement against the threats based on Trump’s xenophobia and racism. Therefore, we emphatically condemn the actions of the government of the United States.

VENEZUELA

Finally, the walk of the presidential candidate Henri Falcón was attacked in the area of Catia, Caracas, where a member of his campaign team – the deputy of the National Assembly Teodoro Campos – was seriously wounded and multiple robberies and aggressions were recorded, in a new fact of violence that tarnishes the electoral campaign.

The reports indicate that these incidents were carried out by pro-government groups that carried firearms, attacking even against the Bolivarian National Police.

We demand the Venezuelan government led by Nicolás Maduro to clarify these facts and the electoral body to give guarantees to all political forces for equal participation in the face of the upcoming elections.

IUSY manifiesta preocupación por acciones contra la democracia en Venezuela

La Unión Internacional de Juventudes Socialistas (IUSY por sus siglas en ingles) manifiesta su preocupación por las acciones que desde el sector del gobierno venezolano se promueven en contra de su sistema democratico. 

Los jovenes socialistas del mundo hemos seguido todos los procesos politicos que se vienen dando en Venezuela, sus consecuencias y la actual crisis economica, politica y social que afecta al pueblo venezolano.

Hemos realizado, hace mas de un año, una visita de estudio donde pudimos reunirnos con todos los sectores del país, politicos, economicos, sociales e incluso con las casas de estudio reconocidas a nivel internacional. 

La irracionalidad política, el irrespeto a la separación de poderes, la confrontación entre los mismos, así como las potestades que se otorgan al presidente de la república en materia civil, penal y administrativa por parte de Tribunal Supremo de Justicia, son acciones que quebrantan la convivencia poĺitica y democratica. 

La grave confrotación politica, inlcuso violencia politica entre los principales actores politicos del país, son de gran preocupación para la comunidad internacional. Como la organización politica juvenil mas grande del mundo, hemos valorado de manera objetiva todo este proceso, donde el llamado al dialogo plural y al respeto de los principios democraticos han sido nuestra principal expresión e increbrantable posición. 

Consideramos que las ultimas acciones que ha promovido el gobierno venezolano profundizan la crisis. Como principal actor politico en Venezuela, el gobierno debe promover un espacio de dialogo plural, donde se incluyan todos los sectores politicos y sociales, donde los puntos en comun,  sean los elementos para inciar y logras avances para el bien de todos y todas. 

Reiteramos el llamado al dialogo plural, y exhortamos a los principales actores politicos tanto del gobierno como de la oposición al cese de la violencia politica, tambien, esperamos se respeten las instituciones y apuesten al reconocimiento de todo el pueblo venezolano. 

Expresamos nuestra disposición como organización juvenil internacional, en promover y propiciar espacios de dialogo plural en Venezuela, donde los jovenes tienen mucho para aportar y construir. 

En IUSY estamos en todo el mundo para luchar y promover la solidaridad, igualdad y democracia.

The International Union of Socialist Youth (IUSY) expresses its concern about the actions taken by the Venezuelan government against its democratic system.

The young socialists of the world have followed all the political processes that are taking place in Venezuela, their consequences and the current economic, political and social crisis affecting the Venezuelan people.

We have done a study visit more than a year ago where we were able to representatives of the country from all fields: political, economic, social, and even with the internationally renown study houses.

The political irrationality, the disrespect to the separation of powers, the confrontation between them, as well as the powers that are granted to the President of the Republic in civil, criminal and administrative matters by the Supreme Court of Justice, are actions that break the Political and democratic coexistence.

The serious political confusion, including political violence between the main political actors of the country, are of great concern for the international community. As the largest youth political organization in the world, we have objectively appraised this whole process, where the call to plural dialogue and respect for democratic principles have been our main expression and unbelievable position.

We believe that the latest actions promoted by the Venezuelan government deepen the crisis. As the main political actor in Venezuela, the government must promote a space of plural dialogue, including all political and social sectors, where the common points are the elements to initiate and achieve progress for the good of all.

We reiterate the call for plural dialogue, and we urge the main political actors of both the government and the opposition to the cessation of political violence, we also hope to respect the institutions and ask for the recognition of the entire Venezuelan people.

We express our willingness as an international youth organization to promote and foster spaces for plural dialogue in Venezuela, where young people have much to contribute and build.

At IUSY we are all over the world to fight and promote solidarity, equality, and democracy.
